I'm sure like me, many of you have been thinking about the pregnant women and mothers and babies in Haiti whose lives have been devastated this week. My mind is filled with images of women thrown in to preterm labor by the stress of the earthquake, children separated from their mothers and parents wondering how they will feed and shelter their children. Thank God for babywearing, which will keep babies close and safe next to mamas and breastfeeding, which protects infants from quickly spreading disease and contaminated water! I am amazed by the way technology and the internet have pulled people together to quickly raise funds for much needed supplies. I hope to keep a growing list here of fundraising incentives that are related to mothers and babies. If you are going to spend any money now, do it wisely and thoughtfully- shop with companies that are giving some or all of their proceeds to the relief effort! Check back here often as I update and be sure to include any ideas in the comment section!
