Among other things, amber is a natural analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-inflammatory. When amber is worn on the skin, the warmth of the skin releases trace amounts of healing oils on the skin. Commonly known as "teething jewelry," baltic amber has been a natural and traditional European remedy for teething discomfort for hundreds of years. I would choose the brownies chip amber necklace for my to-be-born son, Liam, due any minute now (well, officially March 4-ish or 5-ish but, you know, due dates are pretty random). Sylva has spoken highly of Inspired By Finn and amber necklaces!
Ps-Yes, I'll become a follower of your blog, too :)
It's wonderful to hear that more and more parents are becoming aware of the natural healing powers of Baltic Amber. In Europe, it as been a tradition for centuries. Amber for teething; amber for respiratory problems; amber for arthritis; beautiful amber for wearing as a treasure. Your points on the structure of teething necklaces and bracelets are absolutely correct. The beads should be smooth and highly polished as well to ensure proper contact with the baby as well as the benefits that amber adds to the body's own immune system.
Perhaps I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but do you put the necklace on the baby?? Does that cause a strangulation hazard?
Meghan, yes, you put the necklace on the baby. It is available ina variety of lengths so you can choose the right one for your baby. Each stone is hand knotted onto the silk thread so that if the thread broke, teh stones wouldn't fall off and cause a chocking hazard. It's not recommended that babies wear them at night or when unsupervised. Inspired by Finn also has an anklet option!!
And the winner is...... Hanna!! And you didn't think the first entries ever win, did you? Using a number generator at Random.org I came up with #4, so there you go! Congratulations. Thanks everyone for participating! :)
Oh boy, just got the news! I'm a winner!!
Oh yay, my email is HannaErion at yahoo.com
Oh i found your email. nevermind! Thanks!
